CAI-PAN is proud to announce that Ferrari Faqiri has won four gold medals.

Three of the medals were won at the Taekwondo Junior Olympic qualifier in New York. This qualifies Ferrari to compete in the Junior Olympics. Ferrari also won another gold medal at the North American Karate Championship in New Jersey. Well done Ferrari!

Ferrari uses CAI-PAN before  training and competitions to limber up his muscles in preparation and he also uses CAI-PAN to treat any muscular aches and pains or sports injuries that he may get.

For the last 12 years Ferrari has been training in martial Arts he is dedicated and determined to achieve his aim of becoming an Olympic champion in 2012, He already holds three World championships two in Karate and one in Taekwondo. Ferrari also trains young people Kararte in the local community, and some are already winning at National level. Not bad for a young person who was born 10 weeks premature and is an asthma sufferer. Ferrari's medal total for 2007 stands at 23.

Martial Arts demand a lot of personal commitment however the benefits in this type of sport is that it produces well rounded individuals who learn about discipline, etiquette and team work.

 

Ferrari was Head boy at Moor Park High and is currently studying at College. Ferrari, who lives in Deepdale, is a Preston College scholarship student, currently studying for an ICT Practitioners qualification (equivalent to three A Levels). When he isn’t studying, Ferrari is training and competing hard to become Britain’s next big sporting star.

 

Ferrari said: “My family have always been involved in martial arts. I’ve been doing Taekwondo since the age of five, but I didn’t start competing until 2007. I decided to take up Karate in 2002 and started competing in the sport not long after.

“I train eight times a week to make sure that when I go into my competitions, I am as fit and prepared for them as I possibly can be.”

In the past three years, Ferrari has taken part in over 50 Championships including the World Karate Championships in Chicago, the World TaekwonDo Championships in Birmingham and the Junior Olympics in Knoxville, USA.

In 2007, Ferrari competed in 12 competitions all around the world including Chicago, Tennessee and Malta, where he came second in the Men’s International Karate Championships.

 

Ferrari continues: “2008 is going to be a very busy year for me as I have a lot of competitions that I will be taking part in, including defending my Karate world title in New York in March, the Karate Commonwealth Championships in Scotland in June and I am also competing in Italy in October. “ So far this year Ferrari has collected five medals at domestic tournaments including World Karate Association English Champion and BTCB Taekwondo Technical Champion”

 

Ferrari also won the Red Rose Heroes’ sports personality of the year award in December 2007 and is nominated for the British Asian Sport Award Junior sport Personality of the year, due to be announced in March 2008.

As well as being named as Preston Rising Star 2007 and Preston Junior Male Performer of the Year 2008 making him the first person to win consecutive award’s , He was also named the second most promising Asian Sport’s for the future by newspaper Asian Leader and listed as 1 of 20 promising British Asian sport star’s of the future by the Eastern Eye publication.

Ferrari is also concentrating on his education. Once he has completed his course at Preston College, he is intending to go to the University of Central Lancashire to study for a Sports Coaching qualification.

He concluded: “I love my sports and I really enjoy competing. But most importantly, I thrive on winning. I believe I have all it take’s to get to the top especially with my mentality and my drive to succeed. My ambitions are to compete in the Commonwealth Games in 2010 and the Olympic Games in 2012.
